So he was finally back home. It had been brutal, running away like he did, and altogether unlike him - he didn't cause a single scene, except, of course, when he tried to physically cut the tattoos relating to Alex off his skin with his razor, but other than that he considered his behaviour quite reasonable. Quite reasonable indeed. Nicholas Foxx, proud owner of the Foxx fortune after dear old daddy popped his gold-plated clogs a month or two ago, was back where he belonged.
Oddly, his father's death had affected him a little more than he'd thought it would. Of course, he wasn't sad in the least - not any more, anyway. He didn't cry at the funeral. He didn't even hold his mother's hand. Only when she died of grief the next week did he feel the tiniest pang of remorse. Or had he imagined it? No; it wasn't that the deaths made him sad for his loss in any way, more that they reminded him of his own mortality, and how one day, he would have to give up this hedonistic fantasy and fade into dust. Well, he was prepared to make the most of things until then. Starting now.
He hadn't even been back to his apartment yet. He assumed Alex and Joe had gone, even though he'd said in his brief letter that they could live there if they wanted to. Somehow, he could sense already that they weren't there - not through any kind of super power, just the solemn ability all humans have to sense change. Still. A boyfriend and a kid. They weren't all that great to have hanging around when one is trying one's hardest to live life to the full. Though deep down he had to admit that he did miss Alex, just a tiny, little bit. Not really, though. Not very much. Or so he told himself.
No, he hadn't been home yet. Amnesia was his first stop. It felt strange to be there without that aura of celebrity that usually surrounded Mr Nicholas Foxx, particularly since he had become accustomed to being one of the richest, most eligible young men in New York. He used to be the superstar of Maxville. Now he was just some other - albeit extraordinarily attractive - guy. He couldn't get a free drink from the bar any more - the barmaid he'd always flirted with was gone - and it looked like his days of dancing without a shirt on and making everyone else do the same were over. The scars weren't pretty, even though the tattoos were. Shame, really. Instead, he ordered a drink and paid for it, just like everyone else, and stood at the edge of the dancefloor, picking out his prey.

[OH HAI THUR ] Although Benji hadn't been in Maxville long, he had managed to build up quite a reputation. He supposed it was his charm and quick wit...ha! as if. He, being who he was had forced himself on Maxville until she screamed. In pain or pleasure, he didn't care. It was the circus that had made him who he was, if he hadn't been a part of it he expected he would still be in school with the nerds in the back of the class. God bless the circus. His new home, although out of town slightly, had cost him most of his life savings. But it had been worth every cent. The girls, and guys, he had brought home over the last few weeks had been worth it. Well, nearly all of them - a few had reached the 'but I thought you loved me' stage and had to be thrown out. Although he now lived in Maxville, he hadn't really experienced anything but the people. The places were all still new to him, it had only been the other day when he had discovered a forest and a lake. Today he stood outside a strange looking night club feeling thoroughly over dressed in a crisp white shirt and tie - of course he was still in his skinny jeans, but they too seemed to look smart with the rest of his outfit. No matter, if the situation demanded it; he could always take his shirt off. Stepping into the darkness he had a blink a few times for his eyes to adjust to the flashing lights and glittery skirts. Wow. It was crazy, no too unlike the circus, but this was, or seemed to be, controlled havoc. Benji ran a hand through his dark hair as he looked around a group of girls pushed past him, they didn't even look back, as though people like Benji were common enough. He frowned slightly but didn't react as he made his way over to the bar. Then he spotted why the girls hadn't given him a second look. The bar man, the security and most of the guys in the club seemed to be covered in tattoos and piercings. No one seemed to stand out. In fact, Benji could have just assumed they were all the same person multiplied around the room. That was, until he spotted someone looking rather solemn near the bar. The young man seemed to be gazing around the room - looking for someone, perhaps? Benji smiled and casually moved to stand next to him. They looked strangely similar, standing together. Except this guy had shorter hair, and less facial piercings. He also had less tattoos...but apart from that, Benji thought they could have at least passed for cousins. Looking at the guy again he was sure he had seen him before, on TV maybe? Well, he looked like he could have made it on TV - though, maybe not so much anymore. Turning slightly he followed the guys gaze around the room, taking a sip of his own drink he smiled, "Seen anyone that takes your fancy?"

Nick turned sharply at the sound of a voice near his shoulder, and his trademark smirk formed on his rather perfect lips, showing underneath his rather perfect teeth, as his rather perfect tongue wetted them slightly before speaking to the stranger. "Perhaps I have," he replied in his drawling, almost English-sounding, upper class accent - something which had become only more pronounced from spending time with his family. He felt like a new man, being here, single for the first time since forever. And to think - he had been engaged! Engaged! What a fool he had been to fall into that trap! And with Alex, too. That whiny kid had a few lessons to learn before he could settle down into a marriage - like how to be good to his partner, and how not to take advantage of people just because they become quite fond of his kid brother.
Enough about Alex. Time to think of the charming stranger who had appeared. It was an obvious point, and in a place like Amnesia, not too uncommon, but he did look rather like Nick. Not as pale, though. And obviously not as attractive. He could be a model, yes, but he couldn't do the television shoots Nick had done. Nor would he be one of those people who were celebrity models. Well, on second thoughts, maybe. But he still wasn't as handsome as Nick. No one was. Not even Alex.
Stop thinking about him. This is about you. Not him. He doesn't exist to you any more. But the stranger seemed interesting, and attractive enough to stir Nick's attention. "Nothing special here," he added, after an expert glance at the dancing crowd. "Shall we find somewhere more...suitable? I'd very much like to become better acquainted with you, Mr...?" Without waiting for an answer - for he knew the boy would follow him - he stalked off into the back of the club, to the private tables reserved mainly for secret, illicit sex, away from the prying eyes of security and management staff.

Jace, as usual, was out for a drink. And where better to go than a clu full of young girls and boys just gagging for a bit of attention? He smirked as he walked into, admittably, one of his favourite places to be. He didn't like people much, but there was always someone interesting in this club. His smirk fell away as he saw who was sitting at the bar. Someone he thought he wasn't ever going to see again. His eyes narrowed, just slightly, as he took the man in. He hadn't changed a bit. He walked over to the man, and saw Benji next to him. "What brings you back here, Nicholas?" he asked, his voice civil but with a sharp edge to it. "Alex is never going to take you back, you do realise that?" he said, cruelly, staring into Nick's eyes. [Heyyy I can't remember if Jace and Nick were friends or enemies... :/]

Benji frowned slightly and followed the boy towards the back tables, drink still casually between his fingers. He bit his lip slightly and sat down opposite the other boy. "Flynn. Benji...Flynn.And you are?" he asked in return, smiling slightly and downing the rest of his drink. "Who were you looking for?" he added, leaning forward over the table slightly. "I mean...you looked like you were looking for someone."
He paused abruptly when he saw Jace walk over. It was becoming more and more common to run into him and Benji wasn't sure whether he loved it or loathed it. Alex? Who was Alex? clearly someone who had meant a lot to...Nicholas. He sat back and allowed the boy in front of him to snap back at Jace in return. All he had wanted was a light bit of fun, not to be tangled in some relationship web.

"Nicholas Foxx," he said to Benji, though absent-mindedly as he had already sensed an unwelcome presence approaching them. Well, not necessarily unwelcome; things were very different this time. It no longer mattered about Jace being his rival over Alex. Alex no longer mattered - or so he tried to convince himself. It wasn't that he still loved the little wh*re - heavens, no! - but he was still bitter. Bitter about the wasted time, money, skin space. Those tattoos had been painful to remove, particularly in the way he'd attempted to. "I wasn't looking for anyone in particular," he murmured, though this time it was more clear that he was distracted. And then...bingo.
"Good evening, Mr Gray," he replied to the scathing remarks in a languid tone. "So good to see you again. And please, spare me the grief, I have not returned for that boy, so there is no need to start an argument over him and open up old wounds. I left him, I hope you'll recall, and I am not one to go back on such a decision. No, I am back, because this is my home, if, of course, you'll be so good as to allow me home?" Here he raised his eyebrows at Jace, and a cruel smile passed over his mouth, making him momentarily more attractive than ever. "In any case, I think you ought to reconsider your attitude towards me, Mr Gray, as I am planning on buying this place in the near future. If you still want a drinking and f*cking haunt, you'd do well to stay on my good side, as I intend to stay on yours." His tongue flicked quickly over his lips as he looked up at Jace, inviting him with his piercing eyes to join them.

Jace smirked, "I'm glad to see you haven't changed a bit, Nicholas, but i don't think i really believe you when you say that you haven't come back here for him. You still miss him, don't you Nicholas? Well i don't blame you, he was a good shag, wasn't he?" He chuckled lightly then looked at Benji, "Nice to see you again," he said, "Can i get you both a drink?" His voice was civil but in a painfully uncivil way. Without waiting for a reply, he ordered 3 drinks, handing one to Nick, "If i remember correctly, this was your favourite back then."
Jace downed his drink quickly, his eyes never leaving Nick's. Even if wht he said was true, he didn't trust this boy one tiny bit. They had never seen eye t0 eye but Alex Cien had been a mistake for them both; they had more in common than either of them would like to admit. "Why are you back now, Nicholas, after such a long leave?" he asked, vaguely intrigued to see what had actually brought him back after so long.

"If you must know, Mister Gray, I had to leave to witness my father dying. I know from your history that you will have little sympathy for me there, though. Alas, I doubt you would even feel pity that I also had to watch my mother perish. In any case, I had to stay away for much longer than I had thought in order to make sure the inheritance was mine. I shan't bore you beautiful boys with the details, however," he added, punctuating the statement with his trademark smirk. He, like Jace, downed his drink and clicked his fingers at a passing waitress to order another one. As she walked away, his eyes danced up and down her figure with an arrogant smile. "Been there, done that," he muttered to himself.
"So, yes, as of tomorrow this place will be mine. The start of a small empire, I should think." The waitress returned with his drink and smiled at him expectantly, but he sent her away without a word. "And I think I may just change the policy on how staff must dress. But, seeing as we are prime examples of the perfect customers for this dear old place, how should we celebrate its new ownership? I propose to have at least one big party every fortnight - but how shall we begin?"

Jace chuckled and clapped Nick on the back, "It's good to hear it, Nicholas, good to hear it. The loss of a parent is such a blow to oneself. Unless of course, that parent was a bastard and was going to leave you a large amount of inheritence." He shook his head slightly, then ordered in another round of drinks. Nick and him had never seen eye to eye, but there was no harm in buying someone a drink. And Jace was in no hurry to get barred from a place like this.
"A uniform change would indeed be a good idea," he said, smirking as he caught Nick's eye - they were obviously thinking along the same sort of lines. "I'm sure you won't be running out of customers anytime soon. This place is always packed."
[decided they could be civil XD]
