Victoria walked into the cafeteria for the first time. She got her food then looked around to see that it looked like a normal high school cafeteria, except everyone in it was a freak like her. She smiled happily, walking towards a table that was empty except for one person. She sat on the extreme far end of the table, away from the girl. She put her tray down, then her book bag next to her. She started eating her food while getting a book out of her bag.

[Welcome to Sky High my character is a little evil, but bear with him!!] Jace looked up as a girl sat down on the same table as him. Most people stayed away from him, but this girl was obviously new. He looked at her, his eyes hostile in their usual way - cold and pericing. He couldn't deny the fact that she was good looking, but she looked like a 'heroine' to him, and they never seemed to be on his good side. "Welcome to Sky High," he said, civilly, but without any enthusiasim. Without saying another word, he went back to his lunch, intrigued to see what this girl would do in return to his comment. He enjoyed teasing the new kids, he acted like a dog who had just been given a fresh bone. He liked to find out about them, their personalities, how they reacted to him and the other villians in the school. They were always interesting until he got what he wanted and dumped them like he normally did. Jace Grey didn't make 'friends' and nor did he want to.

Victoria looked up to see a boy on the other side of the table saying hi to her and welcoming her to the school. She could tell by the tone of his voice that he didn't sound to happy about her being here, or even him being here. So she smiled up at him politely, then answered back. "Hi, thanks. My name is Victoria." Victoria said to the boy, smiling and offering her hand for him to shake. She looked him over while waiting, he didn't seem to odd, but she knew that in this kind of a school looks could be deceving.

Jace looked at the hand for a few seconds before deciding that he would take the 'nice' approach with this girl and shook it briefly. "So what's your power?" he asked, still in his civil-but-not-too-civil tone of voice. It was a common question to ask the new kid, but for Jace it held deeper meanings. He had to know what he was going to be up against in the not-too-distant future. Not that he had any great plans to 'take over the world' and all that bullsh*t, but there was always competition and it was always good to know what that competition consisted of.

Victoria smiled as he shook her hand. It was nice to see someone being nice to her for once. Then he asked her what her power was. The most popular question of the day, for her. It didn't sound like he was asking for a certain reason, just asking, so she answered. "Oh..well, I can freeze things." Victoria told him, not sure how much else to tell him. So she returned the question. "What can you do?" She asked him feeling a sudden uneasy around him.

Josh walked up and sat his try down not even noticing who was with him at the table. His mind was already getting ready for his training tonight. As he looked at the school food he grimiced. He couldn't belive he had forgotten his lunch. It was the first time he had to eat this slop since he had come to SH. Looking up he noticed a new girl, and Jace. Josh smiled weakly at Jace. They didn't have the best of knowledge of each other, but they were already set apart.
Turning his attention to the new girl he smiled warmly, his sea storm blue eyes gleaming with an inner fire. Hi, I'm Josh. he said as he offered his hand. His nature was slowly returning to what it used to be, very slowly. But he made a good show of it.

Victoria noticed another boy come and sit at the table before the Jace boy could answer. She watched him greet Jace with no emotion. Which ment they knew each other and didn't get along. So she ignored this for now, not knowing the truth between them yet. She looked at the boy as he greeted her, she shook his hand. "Hi, I'm Victoria. Nice to meet you to." Victoria told him smiling brightly in a flirting kind of way. She loved him blue eyes. She could get lost in them very easily.

Josh smiled sweetly at her reaction. Not many people around here stay nice to every one for long. Josh of all people knew that. His lunch was cold, he discovered when he took a bite. Why is it, that with all the powers around here, none of them have the simple abbility to cook? As he said this, a slight flame lept up from his lunch tray. Doing no damage to the plastic, but his food bubbled as if it had just come out of an oven.
Sorry, I'm just not used to having to eat caff food. I usualy bring my own. His eyes were very appologetic, and his voice mirrored this.
He reached into his backpack that was lying on the floor next to him, and pulled out a gallon jug of water. He opened it and drank a quarter of it in mere moments.
Turning his gaze back on her, he smiled. So you freez? Cool. Maybe we should teem up for a game of Save the Citizin some time. he said with a flash of innocent joy at the idea of the favorit game of the school.

Victoria smiled at his joke about the school cooks, then watched with amazment as he cooked his own food with his powers. "Wow you did that?" Victoria asked him with pure joy. "Oh, yeah I can, most of the time. I just got here so I'm still trying to control them." Victoria said blushing this time. She then wrinkled her face in confusion. "Save the Citizen? What is that?" She asked him with confusion in her voice. She ate a peice of food from her tray still listening to him.

It's our equivlent to sports. There are two teams, Heros and Villians. Heros use there powers to try to, of course, save the innocent Citizen. While the Villians try to stop them. It gets pretty intense sometimes, but its a lot more fun then it sounds. Josh was laughing slightly at her responce to his using his powers. And then relized not every one had been through what some of the students here had.
Oh sorry to startle you. It's just that I forget that not every one is used to there powers. It'll come in time. He gave her an encouraging smile.

Victoria listened to his description, she liked the fact that the heros got to use their powers to save the civilian, but have to battle the villians when she only just got here would be tough. "Well it sounds fun, but I would feel better about going in there if I had better control of my powers." Victoria said smiling the whole time, and not looking away from him. She then laughed at his next statment. "Oh you didn't startle me, I thought it was cool. I wish I could do that as good with mine. It only works for me when I'm nervous or scared." Victoria said to him, picking up her drink and watching it freeze in her hand. "See what I mean. It gets a little unnerving sometimes."

Josh smiled at her with a kindness few ever saw out of him anymore. I can see what you mean. But why are you scared, or nervous? He glanced at her drink and brought it back with a small flame from frozen solid to ice cold, the flame never even touching her skin.
Most people have that problem, but my adopted father, before he died, made sure I could control mine so I wouldn't keep setting our home on fire. But I was no where near where I am now. All it takes is training. It's not so much diffrent from learning to read. Once it's there, it's there. But every now and then it does get the better of even the most experianced people. He didn't include himself in that statement and hoped that he didn't sound condacending or egotistical.

Victoria blushed brightly, then turned back to her food. She could tell a guy that she just meet that she thought he was cute. That would be ultra embarrasing. She then watched as the fire he made her drink unfrozen alittle, but didn't hurt her. So she ignored that question and went on to what he said next. "I know but I only just got my powers and where I lived it was hard to keep them from my friends. I was basically the freak of the town." Victoria said frowning and staring at her food.

Josh had already eaten the food on his tray and frowned down at it. They never gave enough around here, not enough to keep his matebolism happy anyway. When she started talking he turned back to her to listen. A slight crease in his brow.
Normal people are stuipd, thats all there is to it. I havn't had to endure that exact punishment, but even from going cross country, I've come to relize that normal humans only want us around to stop what ever evil is attacking them at the time. He hadn't ment to let that slip but he decided he wouldn't applogize for his opinion. Not now days.
I actualy didn't grow up in America though so I can't tell you that every one is like that. He smiled to ease the conversation onto a more neutral path.

Victoria was stunned to think that someone thought this way, till only resently she was a normal person too. But she understood how some people could think about life that way. They risk their lives almost everyday to save people that would normally shun them if they didn't. "Oh, yeah, I understand that." Victoria said not wanting to linger on that subject. "Oh your not from America? You could have fooled me. Where did you grow up?" Victoria asked him wondering how different being a super freak was in a different country.

((I hope you won't mind I was invited to enter here...))
The thin platinum blonde strolled into the cafeteria with a large bag slipped over his shoulder, his eyes took in the all too familiar room and locked on the one object he would dare enter here for. Marco liked to eat outdoors even if it was raining or cold, so he wasn't a typical face to be seen; also added to the fact he liked to test out of anything he could meant he wasn't often seen in the halls at all.
But today he had a mission, his instinct had said he needed to deliver a package, so he approached the table where a very handsome but bored looking boy; Aiden's type he surmised, and a pretty blonde were seated with the back view of a figure he knew completely. He shrugged the loaded bag off his shoulder and rubbed the bunched seafoam green t-shirt that had pressed into his shoulder under the strap.
Crystal teal eyes glanced at the girl before taking another step and announcing his presence, "Aiya! My instinct said I should prepare an extra large batch of sushi and bring it here immediately... soooo who wants a real lunch?" he asked grinning, and looking out for any of the cooks who might have heard him. While zipping the cooler bag open to reveal the lacquered bamboo box on top which he held out to Josh knowing he would be starving. Marco couldn't help but notice that there was an empty tray in front of his fiance, so he knew he had guessed right that he'd forgotten to bring his today... or rather his instinct had. His eyes glanced over the other guy and a miscellanious girl before meeting the other blonde at the table, the girl and asking with his eyes if she wanted a box.

(OOC: Sorry it took soo long for me to reply, I haven't been feeling well lately.)
Victoria was about to talk to the boy whom she was having a conversation with when a boy she didn't know walked up to the table and asked the boy she was talking to if he would like some food, he then asked her the same but with his eyes. She could see the way that they looked at each other, she could tell they where together.
Victoria knodded her head no thanks to the food and looked down at her tray. He food didn't look as good as she hoped that it would, but this was only her first day at the school. She would remember tomorrow to bring her own food. She then looked up at the boys. "Hello my name is Victoria Heat. It's nice to meet you." Victoria said to the new boy at the table. She would have offered her hand to shake but with her powers being on the fritz she didn't want to take the chance of frezzing him.
