The sun was shining, the birds were singing and for once Benji was in a very good mood. He was on his was to the forest, for what reason, he couldn't quite remember. He scuffed his canvas shoes against the powdery dirt, the dust floating around his ankles. His half length jeans ripped at the knee held his hands in the pockets. He may have been in a good mood but he wasn't half bored. He needed a bit of an adventure - sure he had Coco to cheer him up and he was grateful for that. But he couldn't help but feel something was missing.
He reached Paradise Park in good time and hopped the metal fence easily. Walking through the bark chips and sat down rather gracefully on one of the swings, reaching into his jacket pocket he pulled out a packet of cigarettes and lit one up. Slowly he began to swing backwards and forward, not reaching great heights, but not scuffing along the ground either. Suddenly he saw a movement out of the corner of his eye that made him stop. How strange, he could have sworn he'd seen an animal.

Jace padded through the forest in his wolf form, his nose following a scent along the ground. This intriguing scent brought him to the outskirts of Paradise Park, where several more scents were present. He paused in his tracking, lifting up his large black head and cocking it to the side. His sharp yellow eyes picked out a young man sitting on a swing, with a cigarette in his hand. On closer inspection, Jace worked out that it was Benji, the boy he had fought on his first day. They hadn't spoken since, but this boy seemed intriguing.
He crept closer to Benji, staying low to the ground and moving around so that he was behind his back. He paused and lowered his body, shifting his back paws, ready to pounce. With one shift leap, he pounced on Benji, knocking him off the swing and pinning him to the ground, teeth bared in a playful snarl.

One moment he was swinging gently the next Benji found himself laying on his back on the dirty floor with a wolf snarling at him. Benji frowned for a moment, he wasn't scared, he knew for a fact wolves didn't live around the park they lived a lot deeper into the forest. It was clearly a superhero - but who? Benji didn't bother to think, he just used his power to cancel the shape shifter. Watching, his confusion turned to surprise when he realised that the person was in fact Jace, the same boy that had punched him in the face on their first meeting.
"Well...this isn't quite how I imagined our next meeting," he said with a smirk, his eyes glazing over the boy on top of him...on closer inspection, he wasn't as ugly as Benji had first thought. Though, he supposed, being punched in the face had caused him to judge quickly.

Jace had forgotten about Benji's power of being able to cancel other people's powers. He smirked, "I was bored, you seemed like an easy target to pounce on. Plus i knew you wouldn't pull out a shotgun on me. I'm sure you were tempted though," he winked, and rolled off of him, onto the floor. He ran a hand through his dark hair, his eyes never leaving Benji's. He was wearing a light tank top and some old, ripped jeans - his usual attire for when he was hunting.
His eyes ran up and down Benji's body, 'Not bad,' he thought, still smirking to himself. "So what brings you out to the park?" he said, digging into the pocket and pulling out his own pack of cigarettes, and offering one to Benji before taking one himself and lighting it. He inhaled deeply and blew out the smoke, making a few smoke rings as he did.

"An easy target am I?" he asked, taking the lit cigarette from Jace. He caught the other boy looking at him and he stretched his arms up, his shirt revealing his toned stomach. He bit down on his lips and smirked to himself, he couldn't resist. He looked over to Jace and inhaled the cigarette slowly, "I dunno...boredom I guess, haven't got much to do living on my own. What about you? Praying on small children were you?" he teased, sitting up on his elbows slightly.
He brushed some of his hair out of his eyes and looked down at Jace, after a moments pause he cleared his throat, "Urm, look, the other day, I don't usually go around punching people in the face. I'm a good guy really" he said, chuckling lightly to himself.

Jace chuckled, taking another drag on his cigarette, "Preying on small children? How you could you think of such a thing?!" he said, his voice thick with sarcasm. "I go hunting everyday around the woods - clears my mind and means i can get away from my father." He cocked his head to the side slightly and looked at Benji with a strange expression on his face as he apologized for the other day. He inclined his head in acknowledgement of the apology, "Well it certainly made my first day interesting. The principle wasn't best pleased with us, was he?!" He smirked as he remembered the 'conversation' with the principle (which had been more of a shout-at-Jace than a civilized conversation.)

Benji shrugged cheekily, "I dunno...children might be your thing." He didn't comment on the mention of Jace's father - he didn't really want to talk families with a complete stranger. He wasn't proud of his history and he tried to forget his outburst when he'd first met Jace. It seemed the boy knew just how to wind him up - but at the moment, he seemed quite civilised. Benji smiled to himself for a moment, hunting, something Benji had never tried himself - he much preferred flying on the wind than running through the forest. Not that he hadn't tried it, he'd turned into a fox many-a-time just to pad around the town, his friends called it spying - Benji preferred to called it surveillance.
He smiled when Jace mentioned the principle. Glad he didn't actually go to Sky High - even though it didn't evade him from punishment. If it wasn't the principle it was the cops. Not that he minded, anything for a bit of fun. He thought for a moment and then turned his head to face Jace, "Well, as much as I love laying on the floor with members of the public staring at me, I wanna do something. Fancy a run?" he asked smirking and transforming into a little gray fox and snapping cheekily at Jace's shoes.

Jace chuckled, "Oh children are totally my thing. Well, if you count scaring them half to death as a 'thing'." He smirked, a memory coming into his head when he had made a small boy scream and run crying for his mother. Those were fun times but he didn't do those sorts of things as often as he used to.
"A run? Sure," he said, smirking and transforming into a large stag. His muscles rippled under his thick hide. His golden eyes looked down to the small fox as he prepared himself, pawing at the ground in slight impatient. 'Let's see what you've got,' his eyes said, the hint of a smirk just visible on the deer's mouth.

"A stag? Is that the best you can come up with?" Benji smirked, winding in between the thin legs of the other animal, his tail tickling the animals stomach. Did Jace not realise that grey foxed were one of the fastest land mammals? Benji, without warning, took off into the woods, darting past trees and scrambling under bushes, he was keeping a pretty straight line as he ran.
"Last one to the lake is a rotten egg!" he called back laughing as his paws padded over the soft earth with ease. He skidded to a halt and waited, listening for the sound of the stag, but he couldn't hear anything. Jace must have taken another route. No, wait. Benji looked up, his eyes squinting as he saw the stag thunder towards him. With a yelp of excitement he ran off again, not looking back until he could feel the breaths of the other animal not far away.

Jace laughed and galloped off after the small fox. It must have been an odd picture to any passerby - a stag chasing a fox - but this thought just made him laugh even harder. He snorted as he caught up to the fox, bounding along beside him, zig-zagging through the trees. He put his head down and nudged the fox with an antler, his eyes catching hold of Benji's.
The power of the animal made him feel exlierated and he pushed himself forwards, moving faster than a normal stag would be able to go. But the nimble fox had the advantage of being able to go under the bushes, rather than around them, and Benji was still just a little way ahead. 'Come on, Jace,' he thought, his competitive streak coming through as he tried to find the quickest route through the trees.

Benji smirked to himself as he darted past another tree, and then a thought struck him - much like the little rat in the Chinese zodiac, Benji scraped himself up a tree, skittishly ran towards a branch and jumped, flying through the air at the exact moment the stage came galloping past. Benji retracted his claws as much as he dared as he landed smoothly onto Jace's back. He had to hold on, of course, but he tried to be as careful as possible.
As the stag kept running Benji crept forward until his tiny frame was sitting just between the stags antlers. He smiled and then dipped his head forward looking Jace in the eyes. "Boo" he said, lifting his head up against and letting Jace see the road in front.
Benji then took it upon himself to become the worlds worst back seat driver. Taking ahold of the stags left ear in his teeth he pulled gently, wondering if it would really steer the large creature to the left. He smiled to himself and then did the same on the right ear, swishing his tail over Jace's face.

Jace jumped slightly as he felt the fox land on his back. He shook his head, chuckling, "Silly animal." He shook his head as the fox began to chew on his ears and let out a small sneeze when the tail tickled his nose. An idea struck him and he stuck all four legs out, bringing them to a very sudden stop. Unfortunately, Benji did not go flying off as Jace had expected but stayed glued to him.
He started running again, purposefully taking a very twisty route, throwing in the odd buck here and there. He laughed again as he saw the lake approaching, another idea popping into his head. Just as they reached the edge of the lake, he stopped and threw his head down sharply, hoping that the move would send the fox flying into the water.

Benji was clinging on for dear life as he was thrown forward and backwards, left and right. He yelped as he had to duck suddenly for a low branch, growling he nipped the stags ear again playfully. Suddenly his eyes grow wide as he saw the lake getting closer and closer. 'Shit,' Benji thought, but didn't have time to process anything else as he went flying off the stags head and into the freezing cold lake.
Having never swam as a fox before he panicked and immediately transformed back into his human form. His clothes becoming drenched in seconds. Reaching the surface he gasped, swimming slowly to the bank. He frowned at the stag and pulled off his dripping shirt, throwing it in the animals face. Suddenly he smiled and looked towards Jace.
"I think this means, you lose!"

Jace shook the wet shirt off of his head b efore changing back into his human form. He laughed as he took in Benji's drowned-rat appearance then shrugged his shoulders, a smirk forming on his lips. "Never mind," he said, stepping closer, before shoving the boy back into the water. He chuckled again, "At least i'm not wet," he said, smirking at Benji in the water.
"That will teach you for jumping on my back, Mr Flynn," he said, crossing his arms over his chest and pulling over his packet of cigarettes. "I'd offer you one, but i don't think it would light too well in that water," he said, still smirking as he put one in his mouth and lit it.

Benji growled playfully and grabbed ahold of Jace's shirt just as he lit up the cigarette and pulled him into the lake. "Don't worry, I can make you wet," Benji said winking as he dunked the other boy under the water. He let go of Jace's shoulders and allowed him to come to the surface. He smirked just as Jace had done and crossed his thin arms over his chest. His jeans were becoming increasingly heavy as he bent down and pulled off his shoes and socks, throwing them to the bank.
He bit his lip and sent a wave of water over to Jace, "Don't be such a sore loser Grey, there will be other races for you to lose I'm sure" he added with a smile.

Jace narrowed his eyes and also pulled off his t-shirt, revealing even more of his tattoos and his toned chest. "Looks like we are going to be swimming now then," he said, smirking and transforming into a small, brown otter. He dived under the water and looped through Benji's legs, making a figure of eight around them. He came back up to the surface and lay on his back, splashing Benji with his back legs.
He chuckled and rolled onto his front, enjoying the swim - it was a nice change to running anyway. He dived under the water again and swam silently through the water, coming up behind Benji and jumping on his back, being careful not to scratch him with his claws. "Boo," he said, smirking at Benji.

Benji chuckled as he was sprayed with water from the small brown creature, when he felt paws on his back he turned and picked up the small otter. "Bit cute for you isn't it?" he asked, smiling and tickling the otters tummy. He put the animal back in the water and used his power to make Jace turn back into a human. Silently he swam up behind the other boy and wrapped his thin arms around the boys waist, pressing his lips gently against Jace's shoulder.
"Boo, to you too" he muttered, smiling and letting go of the other boy, diving down under the water.

Jace raised an eyebrow at Benji as he felt his lips press against his shoulder. He chuckled and dived down under the water as well, catching Benji's leg as he did so. He smiled at the boy under the water, moving closer towards him. He cocked his head to the side, then smiled, letting out bubbles of air as he did. He pressed his lips against Benji's briefly, before smirking and pulling away, swimming up towards the surface.
He broke through the surface of the water and ran his hands through his hair. He wasn't sure what had changed the atmosphere between the two of them, but things had certainly taken a turn and he wasn't sure if this was going to be a good or a bad thing!

Benji smiled when Jace disappeared towards the surface, he followed slowly, breaking the water a little way from the other boy. He wiped his hair from his eyes and the water from his face as he turned towards Jace. Smiling he waded over, his jeans just about managed to hold onto his hips. He reached the other boy, almost nose to nose and smiled. Teasing him.
His fingers traced over the boy's tattoos, he bit down on his lip and looked up towards Jace. The other boy was at least half a head taller than Benji, not that he minded. It made things more...interesting. "What now?" he asked, running his tongue along his bottom lip.

Jace's eyes glazed over the boy's body and he smirked, "Now this." He put his hand behind Benji's head and pulled the boy closer to him, pressing there lips together. He deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue over Benji's bottom lip. His other hand crept down Benji's back, to the waist band of his jeans. He ran his fingers back and forth along the line of his trousers as they continued to kiss deeply.
He knew this probably wasn't the best of ideas but hopefully Benji was a one night stand kind of guy. He'd just have to be extra careful around his father when he got home. Or he could go back to his apartment...and then Benji could come with him...
